The Whimsical Engagement Session
The key ingredients to a whimsical engagement session are as follows.
1. Have a beautiful scenic location
2. Be absolutely in love with your partner
3. The willingness to be vulnerable in front of the camera
4. Wear something fun and flowy, something you feel comfortable moving in
5. Last but not least, have an awesome photographer who can lead you to get THAT whimsical feel.
For all my couples I want their engagement session to feel like an extension of themselves and I think for Danielle and Jed that's exactly what their engagement session felt like. It may have been a bit muggy, overcast, buggy and we might have been trying to beat an incoming storm. But we didn't let all of that affect the evening, they were present and ready to have fun. They were able to let loose and get comfortable in front of the camera. Driving around Harriman State Park, pulling off the road to catch all the stunning views the park had to offer and leaving any expectations behind really helped them let loose, have fun, and just focus on being in love and present with each other. We did go into this session with a plan and some prime locations to use but once we left our first location we flew by the seat of our pants and stopped where ever we saw a vision. Which made it all the more whimsical, tramping through the woods, finding the most beautiful flower bushes and rock field to dance around. And Obviously the lake made it so senice and beautiful.

A little bit about the couple:
Danielle & Jed met in college where they were both pursuing a career in photojournalism, they both happened to volunteered for Special Olympics where they first laid eyes on each other. They went on to work together at a sports broadcasting company and being a part of the same club in college. What started out as just friends and turned into much more after a movie date. Since then they haven’t stopped hanging out since, they are truly best friends if you couldn't tell.
They are getting married next September at a beautiful tree farm, in upstate NY at Emmerich Tree Farm.
